Instructions for Using the DancEd Website to Register Online:

Parents able to register their children for dance classes for the 2008-2009 school year (see above for specific dates and times) will want to familiarize themselves with the DancEd website prior to the start of online registration. If you are able to register on either Friday, June 27th or Wednesday, July 2nd (see above) you already have a account set up in the DancEd database.

Click Here to Create an Account or
Log In to an Existing Account

To access your existing account, all you need is to have a valid email address and a password.
If you would like to verify either the email address you have provided or the password you have set, simply try to log on as a Returning Customer and enter the data in the field provided. Remember, passwords are CASE SENSITIVE. If you have trouble, feel free to send an email to dance@DancEd.com and we will try to help you.

Once you have successfully gotten into your account, please take a moment to verify your contact information and account specifics. You may want to also add to your record if you have another dancer who will be registering. Remember, you can only include your immediate family or dependents for whom you are the legal guardian as part of your account record. This is important and failure to comply with this rule may cause your registration to be nullified.

DancEd has successfully taken online registrations from several hundred families. The system has worked for pretty much everyone who has tried it, and those who have experienced problems tend to have problems in the logging into their existing account. For this reason we highly recommend spending a few minutes getting your account set up before you actually are trying to register.

A few quick thoughts on the online system:

  • The number of people accessing the system at a given time will affect the speed of the system, so please be patient. Once you have logged into your account you can be sure that everyone else who is logged in at that time is experiencing the same issues that you are experiencing (although the type of computer that you are using can also affect this). DancEd has invested in a technologically solid, secure system, but patience is the key.
  • All account records at DancEd are kept by FAMILY. Please keep this in mind if you modify your account so you don’t accidentally record your dancers name where YOUR name belongs (one such place is under the heading “Your Personal Details”).
Your online registration is done in real-time, and your registration is not finalized UNTIL you complete the checkout procedure once you have input all of your classes. Said another way, your place in a class is not held until you have finished paying.
  • Be sure to register for classes at the appropriate level for your dancer(s). Most existing DancEd dancers received placement information last spring for the upcoming fall session. Please honor this placement or you will be removed from your class (or classes). Some classes have no placement, but are taken by age (like most Hip Hop classes). DancEd will not allow dancers to go into classes that are not appropriate for them so please be sure to register for appropriate classes. Please note that if your dancer received a recommendation in the past and then stopped taking that type of dance (like ballet or jazz), her most recent recommendation is still appropriate for her!
  • DancEd will take a look at our wait lists to determine if we should try to add a specific class to the schedule. Please keep in mind that the schedule that comes out in May for the upcoming fall is the best schedule possible at the time it is made. Normal operating procedure for DancEd is to examine the wait lists toward the end of the fall registration process to see if we are able to change or add a class.
  • If you want to be added to a wait list between Friday, June 27th and Friday, July 11th please send an email with the class name, day and time, your name, your dancer’s name, and contact phone number to dance@DancEd.com. Please include the words “Wait List” in the title of the email. The online registration system is unable to add names to the wait list. After July 11th all wait list requests will be done only through the office at DancEd. As always, names are added to the wait list in the order they are received
  • Lastly – for most people this does not matter, but it is worth mentioning that the system will charge you for any outstanding balance that exists in your account when you checkout. This cannot be avoided, it is the way the system is designed. Other limitations of the system are its inability to split payments, pay via check, or honor DancEd’s unlimited tuition rates. If you exceed the unlimited tuition you will be charged for all of your classes and DancEd will have to manually refund the overage to you. This is something we hope to address in the future, and your patience and understanding in this are appreciated.
