Class Descriptions

Helpful for the serious dancer who is interested in improving technique in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and other activities like skating and gymnastics. School-age dancers of any level will benefit from taking an-appropriate level ballet class!

Does your daughter want to cheer or try out for a pom squad? This is the class for you! Learn pom routines and sharp moves to give each student an edge. The instructor has taught pom camps and has been a member of several award winning pom squads.
Students will learn dance steps using special dance shoes. Tap dancing is a form of dance where the dancer is able to make different sounds using their feet. Gene Kelly, Gregory Hines, and Ann Miller are all famous tap dancers. Students need leotard and tights or unitard, and black tap shoes.
Students will learn how to stretch and strengthen their core. This is a great class if one needs improvement with flexibility. Students need dance attire and bare feet (no socks or footed tights).
This class will teach students the latest and greatest dances that are being done at Bat Mitzvahs, Bar Mitzvahs, school dances, etc. Party Dance class will be tons of fun and really get everyone moving!!!
Using themes from Broadway musicals and Hollywood movies, students will learn different styles of dance. This class is designed to help the student who wants to act and perform in plays, musicals, and other related productions. Students need black jazz shoes, leotard and tights, or unitard.
Mom and daughter will learn dance steps while interacting and having fun with each other. Classes are designed for partner activities with music and props. Participants will need loose fitting clothing and appropriate shoes.
Mother and young child (18 months-36 months) will interact and enjoy moving together to different types of music. Creative movement activities will enhance visual, auditory, and kinesthetic skills. Mother and child need loose-fitting clothes and tennis shoes or dance shoes.
This class combines many different styles of dance to produce a new modern version of Ballet and Jazz. Flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance will be enhanced through dance exercises and routines. Students need leotard and footless tights, lyrical sandals, or bare feet.

Students will learn upbeat and stylized dance moves. Jazz dance is fast-paced and requires high energy. Students need leotard and tights or unitard, and black jazz shoes. Hair needs to be pulled away from the face in a ponytail.
Students will learn the latest new dance moves. This style of dance allows the body to move freely and funkily. Previous training is not required for this class. This class will enhance a dancer's energy and enthusiasm for dance. It is lively and fun! Students need dance clothing and black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers.
For students who enjoy dance and want to make more of a commitment to the dance studio. Dance Company members will have the opportunity to perform at various places around Chicago during the school year. Many classes on the schedule are followed by a level number. The higher numbers indicate a higher level of class, as determined typically by a student's age and ability level. Adult classes are usually for post-high school-age dancers.
Students will learn basic ballet steps and locomotor skills through games, stories, and imaginary events. Class allows 2 1/2 to 3 year old students to interact with other children and be creative with music and props. PLEASE NOTE: Children should be 2 1/2 years old by the start of the first class and be able to function without a parent in the dance room.
Students will participate in ballet, creative movement and tap instruction. This class provides an opportunity for the child to interact with other students and develop appropriate motor skills. Students need black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes, dance bag, leotard, and tights. NOTE: All dancers MUST be potty-trained and able to attend class on their own (without parent present).
This class is a non recital ballet class for students in Ballet 3 and higher. This is a great way to increase your dance technique. Each class is grouped by level.
Great class to focus on ballet technique while using Ballet barre exercises.
Students will stretch and learn graceful dance steps. Proper technique and body placement are highly emphasized. Students who are serious about improving as dancers will find that Ballet classes are an important part of their training. Cecchetti is a series of Ballet classes where the student must master specific techniques and pass a test before moving on to the next higher level. Pointe is an advanced ballet variation requiring special ballet shoes. Students need black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be in a bun.
Teen level classes are for older students with little dance training in that genre. Teen Jazz 1-2 is for older students at a Jazz 3-4 level class. Teen Jazz 3 is for Jazz 6 and higher studentswho are not able to take Ballet.
This class is for all of you sisters who like to dance together! Students will learn dances to perform with their sister. Activities will incorporate movments for a two some, so grab your sister and your jazz or ballet shoes and join the fun.

Beginning to intermediate level classes for older students who are interested in dance. These classes advance more quickly and learn more steps.

These classes will help stretch and strengthen muscles. Great for balance, flexibility, improving posture, and more! We offer beginning and intermediate Tap and Jazz as well as adult Hip Hop and Ballet.
