This class is for all of you sisters (or BFF's!) who like to dance together! Students will learn dances to perform with their sister. Activities will incorporate movments for a two some, so grab your sister and your jazz or ballet shoes and join the fun.
Students will participate in ballet, creative movement and tap instruction. Dancers will play movement games, use props, learn new steps, and meet new friends - all in a structured and FUN dance environment! They will get to move while using their imagination and improv to super fun music. Each session students will also get to participate in several theme-based classes where they can dress up for class. Students need black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes, dance bag, leotard, and tights. NOTE: All dancers MUST be potty-trained and able to attend class on their own (without parent present).
Teen level classes are for older students with little dance training in that genre. Teen Jazz 1-2 is for older students at a Jazz 3-4 level class. Teen Jazz 3-4 is for Jazz 6 and higher students who are not able to take Ballet.
Mother and young child (18 months-36 months) will interact and enjoy moving together to different types of music. Creative movement activities will enhance visual, auditory, and kinesthetic skills. Mother and child need loose-fitting clothes and tennis shoes or dance shoes.
This class combines many different styles of dance to produce a new modern version of ballet. Flexibility, muscular strength and endurance will be enhanced through dance exercises and routines. Students need dance attire and bare feet.
Students will learn upbeat and stylized dance moves. Jazz dance is fast-paced and requires high energy. Students will stretch and work on dance technique, as well as learn choreographed routines that move across the floor. Like tap, modern jazz dance is considered to have it's origins in America (with special credit given to Chicagoan Gus Giordano!).
