DancEd dancers have become known by those who run in important and influential circles in the Chicagoland area.  And we have a cool story to prove it.

This is a fun story that should have a happy ending, but we won't know that until the 2012-13 school year.  DancEd recently reached out to someone who seemed to be the appropriate person at Northwestern University (Ever heard of it?  It is a very prominent & prestigious local institution of higher learning) to talk about the possibility of our doing a dance performance at a men's basketball game or some other athletic event.  In making the appropriate phone introduction and telling the gentleman about DancEd, he politely listened for a few moments and then mentioned that he knows all about DancEd because he is the one who used to do the PA announcing for the Chicago Rush football team.  He had actually introduced our kids as they ran out onto the field to perform at the half of a Rush game a few years ago!

Not only that, but when this person left the Chicago Rush for another job opportunity, he said that having DancEd perform at ANOTHER large sporting event was something that was discussed.  We even talked about it together, but the calendars did not work.  Suddenly, it is clear that he is very familiar with DancEd and what we do.  And he loves the idea that we would be able to do our thing to entertain the crowd at Wildcats games.  Junior Varsity Chess Match?  DancEd is there.  Underwater Skeet Shooting?  Our girls will provide some energy in-between quarters (actually I'm kidding about that one, I don't think underwater skeet competitions have quarters!).  Or maybe they can find something else for us - either way, we are in!!!

DancEd dancers, our reputation proceeds us!!!  As of this writing (March 14th) it is still not too late to tryout for next year's Companies, but you had better act fast and be prepared to attend a parent meeting on 3/20 at 6pm!

Go Wildcats!!!  Now, about that DancEd Dancer Scholarship Fund…
